Karinto are typically crispy, deep fried, cylindrical snacks coated in a sweet, crunchy layer of black sugar.
These karinto, however, are quite different. Handmade by Inaniwa's expert udon craftsmen, these crackers were made with a delicious udon noodle dough that has been stretched to become wafer thin before being cooked, resulting in a thin, crunchy, crispy cracker packed with delicious sweetened burnt soy sauce flavor.
The flavor comes from Inaniwa's original mitarashi syrup, carefully crafted from Okinawan brown sugar, burnt soy sauce, and plenty of sesame and kinako roasted soy bean flour. All of this combined creates an incredibly rich, sweet, salty, and nutty flavor that you will love!
