Nori tsukudani is a seaweed paste seasoned with condiments like sugar, mirin (sweet sake), and various seafood dashi. With a spoonful of this condiment, you can casually enjoy the taste of nori seaweed.

The freshly harvested nori seaweed is immediately processed to a paste, before being seasoned with the manufacturer’s secret sauce. As a result, it has both a rich sweetness and umami.

Although, normally, pasted seaweed is a condiment for steamed white rice, the manufacturer also recommends spreading this product on bread with butter.

    A nostalgic taste

This was, apparently, something I used to eat with rice as a child. I have no recollection of actually eating this, but the smell and taste are, for sure, extremely nostalgic. Very flavorful, it's great to mix with your rice, especially if you don't feel like making or bringing out a ton of other side dishes.

I only wish the jar was bigger.
